TITLEHOLDERS CONTRACT

This Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between [Titleholder Name] (“Titleholder”) and the Washington State Leather Organization (“WSLO”) as of [Effective Date].

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Titleholder Shall:

  1. Always follow the directives of the WSLO Board of Directors.
  2. Act as public relations agents of WSLO, maintaining the best possible public image and serving as a voice for all members of the leather community.
  3. Represent WSLO at local and out-of-town functions.
  4. Support all worthwhile efforts by community organizations and individuals consistent with the purpose of WSLO as set forth in the attached rider/page 2.
  5. Understand that the title sash/stole is the sole property of WSLO. The sash/stole must be returned to WSLO when the titleholder is no longer holding the active title. WSLO will carry property insurance to cover accidental loss or damage. The titleholder is responsible for any loss or damage due to personal negligence.
  6. Sell enough advertising for the stepping down program to cover all printing costs of the program.
  7. Organize a minimum of two (2) fundraisers during the title year. Twenty percent (20%) of all proceeds from fundraisers held by Washington State Title Holders will go directly to WSLO, while the remaining eighty percent (80%) will benefit a beneficiary of their choice, provided it is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) organization. Washington State Bootblack may opt to donate bootblacking tips from an event to count as one of the fundraisers.
  8. Obtain prior approval from the WSLO Titleholder’s board liaison for all formal fundraisers. Any funds received from these functions shall be processed through WSLO. Receipts must be submitted within 7 days of the function to the WSLO Board representative or an approved drop-off location.
  9. Make appearances at the Washington State Leather Contest (step-down) and two (2) additional leather and/or fetish title events or fundraisers. Washington State Bootblack must publicly provide bootblacking services at a minimum of two (2) events. Any additional appearances are at the titleholder’s discretion. Waivers to miss attendance at the aforementioned functions may be granted by the Board President.
  10. Maintain consistent communication with the WSLO Board of Directors Liaison.
  11. Serve (unless removed) until the succeeding contest.
  12. Complete all public appearances and fundraising requirements, including the step-down weekend, upon assuming the title. Failure to do so, for any reason, may result in the forfeiture of the titleholder’s right to be listed or recorded as the year’s titleholder.
  13. Submit to a board review if allegations of behavior deemed harmful or discriminatory are brought to the WSLO board’s attention. Based on the findings of the review, the titleholder may be removed from their position, and the sash/stole and patch must be returned.
  14. Return the title sash/stole and patch if choosing to resign from title responsibilities before completing the title year.

Acknowledgment:

By signing this contract, I agree fully and voluntarily, under no threat, coercion, or duress, to fully comply with all the terms and conditions herein. I also understand that as the reigning titleholder, failure to fulfill any responsibilities stated in this contract or conduct damaging to WSLO may result in removal by majority vote of the WSLO Board of Directors.
